argcheck

  argcheck does error checking for the MAT-file utilities

  Example:
  filename=argcheck(filename, varname)
  returns the filename with the .mat extension if no other
  is specified
  Where appropriate, also calls CheckIsLastEntry(filename,varname) to
  check varname is OK
